“When you establish a destination by defining what you want, then take physical action by making choices that move you towards that destination, the possibility for success is limitless and arrival at the destination is inevitable.”~ Steve Maraboli ~

Make the month of December the time you establish a destination for 2019. Over 80% of Americans make New Year’s Resolutions. However, only 8% actually realize them. Make this year different personally and professionally by establishing the following action steps.

For the next 30 days, spend your time individually, establishing a destination by first looking back over what this year has brought you. If you have not kept a paper calendar, then take the last year and break it down into quarters and recreate 2018. Look into these three areas when recreating your year.

1. What worked and helped you prosper personally and professionally?

2. Who did you allow to influence you positively or negatively?

3. What did you accomplish this year that you want to move forward with for next year?  What needs adjustment?

The biggest competition is myself. I am not looking to follow others or pull them down. I’m planning to test my own boundaries.” ~ Rain ~

In the next several days, take the opportunity to evaluate what was beneficial and what you could take out of your work and personal life. It is hard to test your boundaries unless you are aware of what you personally and professionally value and want to achieve. It is not about others, it is about what you are willing to do. Look into these areas and see how to create the optimal conditions:

1. Know your goals, vision, and opportunities.

2. What are the steps necessary to reach them?

3. Are you willing to do the steps necessary to reach them?

4. Are you able to articulate, write, and share with others your intentions?

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”Paul J. Meyer

Now that you know where you have been, we will be able to breakdown 2019 to be more manageable.Building on excellence is never a mistake. Ask yourself, are you willing to do what has to be done in order to achieve your vision and goals?Give yourself the opportunity to grow and develop something that you have control of. Take a little time to yourself and find out what you really want to accomplish. Remember: YOU ARE WORTH IT!
