HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 19, 2024 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Aetna, a CVS Health company, has expanded the functionality of the Aetna Health℠ app to include Spanish-language options for all eligible health plan members, regardless of how or where they have coverage.

The app pages will be fully available in Spanish to make it easier for Spanish-speaking members to navigate, access care and understand health information. This includes ID cards, benefit details, deductibles, claims, cost estimates and health care providers.

With this expansion of language services in the app, Aetna enhances its ability to offer more personalized and simple access to care for members of all health plans nationwide.

“I’m proud to be part of the Latino community, where Spanish is our first language. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the new language capabilities of the Aetna Health app. Better health starts with stronger member engagement, and this initiative reflects our effort to connect every member to their care in the most accessible way,” said Gus Giraldo, senior vice president, Individual and Family Plans at Aetna. “This update allows us to be more effective in communicating with and supporting our members, creating opportunities for the best health outcomes. We’re confident that this enhancement will not only expand our reach, but also deepen our impact, and we look forward to continuing to expand to fully meet the diverse needs of our members.”

In addition to the app, Aetna members also have support from care managers and Customer Service representatives who can provide assistance in Spanish. Through events and interviews in local communities, Aetna also supports the Spanish-speaking public by sharing public health information and practical tips in that language on relevant topics, such as vaccines, preventive care and mental health.

Aetna is committed to putting every member’s health plan at their fingertips. To meet the needs of our dynamic member populations, Aetna continues to explore expanding the health app’s capabilities to include additional languages. Members can currently request language assistance on the language assistance page of the Aetna website.
