Stage Crafters Community Theatre
By Maddalena “Maddie” Ostrowski | Member at-Large for the Executive Board.
For over 50 years, Stage Crafters Community Theatre and its members—all of whom are volunteers—have maintained a successful and rewarding partnership with the citizens of the greater Fort Walton Beach area, bringing the performing art of LIVE theater to the region through our four-show “Main Stage” seasons, “One-Act” performances, school programs, and benefit performances to raise funds for non-profit organizations.
Stage Crafters strives to maintain a high standard of excellence in every production, while preserving its status as the oldest community theater in the state of Florida—operating continuously, composed entirely of volunteers, and functioning as a non-profit organization. Stage Crafters promotes artistic expression and community spirit by producing plays, musicals, and other forms of entertainment that are engaging, enjoyable, and culturally enriching; all with the aim of fostering creative endeavor in the performing arts, as well as training actors, directors, producers, and technical staff to bring these stories to life.
More than 12,000 volunteers have learned and honed their skills in areas such as acting, directing, costume design, lighting, dance, set construction, and much more. Stage Crafters has enriched the community with live theater, reaching an audience of over 350,000 spectators to date—and we look forward to continuing to grow over the next 50 years!
Next to take our stage—located at the Fort Walton Beach Auditorium—is the heartwarming tale of *Anne of Green Gables*, running June 5–7 and June 12–14. In August, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson return to the case in the play *Moriarty*, with performances running August 14–16 and August 21–23. The 2026 season culminates with the “winning hand” of musical comedy: *Guys and Dolls*, running November 6–8 and 13–15. Performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Whether you are visiting us for the first time, are an experienced volunteer, or a longtime donor, at Stage Crafters we are delighted to have you join us in our passion for live community theater, situated in the heart of the Emerald Coast.
