Summer in Bloom on the Emerald Coast of Northwest Florida

by Monica Davey | Real Estate Empowered LLC

July is hands down one of my favorite months of the year. Despite being the hottest month and experiencing heavier traffic, as a local, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to call this place home.

alive with an influx of tourists

During the summer, Northwest Florida comes more alive with an influx of tourists, transforming our towns into bustling hubs of activity and diversity. Just last week, my sons and I were at the splashy park in Destin while they were playing with other kids. I had a great conversation with a local couple from Moldova and Thailand who had been living in Destin for ten years and another tourist mom visiting from Cartagena, Colombia. As we discussed the beauty of this area and all the amazing activities available, we couldn’t help but notice how much our region has evolved.

Reflecting on the past, almost eight years ago, I vividly remember researching where Destin was and whether it was a safe place to raise a family. At the time, there wasn’t much information available, which filled me with caution about moving here. After we finally settled in, I took note of the lack of cultural diversity and how the journey from the VPS airport to 30A seemed never-ending. I even recall the side of the road along Hwy 98, which was filled with trees and more trees and maybe a few businesses scattered at a distance from each other.  Compared to now, the undeniable growth is astounding; everyone from social media influencers to A-list celebrities is vying for a piece of this paradise. The increasing influence of the Latino population is another noticeable change, adding vibrancy and diversity to our region’s unique character.

Emerald Coast has transformed from a hidden gem

In recent years, the Emerald Coast has transformed from a hidden gem to a must visit bucket list destination, significantly impacting our local real estate market and creating unparalleled opportunities for sellers, buyers, and investors. This transformation is a testament to the potential and growth of our region, and it’s a source of pride for all of us who call this place home.

golden period for the real estate market

Summer is a golden period for the real estate market, from PCS relocations to digital nomads seeking their next location. This moving helps sellers feel confident when listing their properties, while buyers gain assurance that their investment is worthwhile. That’s why engaging with a knowledgeable realtor like me, who comprehends the seasonal dynamics, can make all the difference in finding the perfect property at the right price.

As our Latino population grows, so does the demand for bilingual real estate advisors. Providing support in both English and Spanish is not just a service; it’s my commitment to ensuring that all my clients feel empowered and understood throughout their real estate journey.

I hope you and your family are having a great summer. If you are searching for a local bilingual real estate advisor, don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can find me on social media as @destin.realtor. At your service. Monica
