Okaloosa Academic Team Wins State Championship

The Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) Academic Team was recognized at the April 27, 2026, School Board meeting for earning first place in Division II at the prestigious Commissioner’s Academic Challenge.

Demonstrating exceptional academic knowledge, collaboration, and determination, the OCSD team competed against top students from across the state to secure the championship title. Their achievement reflects the district’s commitment to academic excellence and the hard work of both students and coaches.

“Winning a state championship at the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge is an extraordinary accomplishment,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “These students have demonstrated not only exceptional academic ability, but also teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Okaloosa County on the state stage, and we congratulate them and their coaches on this well-deserved honor.”

Established in 1986, the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge is a statewide competition that showcases student achievement across a wide range of disciplines, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, world languages, physical education, health, and technology. Each year, Florida’s top academic teams compete in this rigorous event, making OCSD’s first-place finish a remarkable accomplishment. The Okaloosa County School District proudly congratulates these outstanding students and their coaches for representing our community with excellence at the state level.
