Miami-Dade Begins Christmas Tree Collection
Trees must be placed on the sidewalk and be free of decorative ornaments

Miami-Dade County, Florida, announced the details for Christmas tree collection. According to the information, the first phase began on Wednesday, January 7, and will end on January 18.
The Miami-Dade County website details that the collection and recycling of Christmas trees aims to keep the areas “clean and green.”
“This year, trees will be collected throughout the service area during two sweeps. Do not place whole trees or cut trees in the green garbage carts or blue recycling carts,” the instructions state.
The second and final phase of Christmas tree collection will take place from January 21 to February 1. On this occasion, trees will be collected on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Other Recycling Options
In addition, they reported that residents can recycle their clean, undecorated Christmas trees by taking them to any County Trash and Recycling Center, or to the West Miami-Dade Household Chemical Collection Center at 8801 NW 58th St.
This service is only for residents who receive waste collection services from Miami-Dade County. Those interested can drop off their clean, undecorated tree at one of the Waste and Recycling Centers listed below:
