IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announced its virtual workplace-first model, offering convenience and better work-life balance for employees. The program reflects the evolving workplace culture brought on by the ongoing pandemic and will offer flexible work schedules for teams that can perform their work remotely.

“As in many companies, the pandemic has changed our traditional ways of working,” said Jeff Guyton, president and CEO of MNAO. “Our Mazda team did an extraordinary job in transitioning to a remote work program; in fact, our sales and U.S. market share have never been better. There is a strong link between business culture and business outcomes, and we believe our virtual workplace-first concept allows everyone to contribute from where they feel most productive.”

Workplace NAM options will improve work-life balance, while providing access to tools and resources that support outcomes. Face-to-face work opportunities will be available as needed through MNAO’s north American job sites, which will function as hubs for employee collaboration and more.

The virtual workplace initiative will first support an engaged workforce and reap the benefits of a cutting-edge work environment. The immediate effects of the program include the following:

  • Greater flexibility: Eligible employees and their superiors can create custom schedules that best fit their needs and those of the company, allowing staff to work remotely, onsite or under a hybrid model.
  • Various employment opportunities: MNAO will be able to access a larger and more diverse talent pool within the United States.
  • Greater labor mobility: the agile virtual structure will allow more professional opportunities within the organization without relocation restrictions for positions that meet the conditions.
