As we enter the month of February it is hard not to think of love, romance and celebration. With all that is going on in the world right now, we can all use a little more love in our lives these days. Valentine’s Day in America is celebrated on February 14, a little different than Brazilian traditions that celebrate this same holiday on June 12. Whether you are celebrating St. Valentine in America or Saint Anthony in Brazil for Valentine ’s Day, the meaning of the day is the same  celebration of love.

Although Valentine’s day can be celebrated in many different ways there are two special ways I like and will suggest. The first way I  suggest  requires a little more effort and money than the second.

One of my favorite places to go for any special occasion is Tommy Bahama restaurant located on Grand Blvd. Let me first start by saying this is usually a very busy restaurant, so I will highly recommend you plan ahead if you considering going for Valentine’s Day and making a reservation. There are many things that make Tommy Bahama Restaurant a great place to go for Valentine’s Day, one being that they are offering a special Prix Fixe Menu for Valentine’s weekend.

The minute you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by very welcoming and friendly hostess staff. The restaurant decoration is tropical to give its guests an island feeling .They have an outdoor garden patio where one can sit for dinner and enjoy live music. The service is friendly and attentive. The bread they serve is homemade hot and delicious. From their regular dinner menu I love all their Shareables with the Macadamia crusted goat cheese and Filet Mignon Flatbread being my favorites.  From their land part of the menu my favorite is their Kona Coffee Ribeye and from the Sea part of the menu, I love the Macadamia nut crusted snapper. Their cocktails are also delicious and usually beautifuly decorated. Please make sure to leave plenty of room for their amazing looking and tasting desserts.

If spending money in a fancy restaurant is not in your budget this year, no worries, my second suggestion is easy, affordable and still very romantic.  Buy your loved one some flowers. Pack some towels, some snacks, either their favorite wine or Prosecco with some nice glasses and strawberries and hit the beach at sunset. A surprise sunset romantic evening should  melt some hearts. I Hope whatever you all do and wherever you choose to go, your hearts will be filled with extra love this month.  Stay safe & healthy.  Until next time…
