United for a Good Cause – Supporting our area’s youth
United for a Good Cause Inc. has a very important mission, it is to “Promote the Spirit of Service, Giving, and Unity among the youth in our region for the benefit of the Emerald Coast community!”
The organization is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity led and supported by individuals of all races and backgrounds.
To accomplish its primary mission, the organization develops projects that provide the opportunity for area youth to give of their time, to serve their community, to learn about philanthropy and giving and to work in unity while participating in projects that make this great community an even better one!
Additionally, the organization looks for opportunities to raise funds or make contributions to other entities that serve the youth of our area.
The organization is well known for its Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Needy Children’s Fiesta. The Fiesta is free to all that attend Christmas party that has hosted thousands of children since its inception in 2005!
In 2013, the organization created the “Youth Leadership Conference” program to provide an avenue for area students to attend presentations by area professionals in Leadership and Entrepreneurship. Successful local area businessmen, as well as civic leaders, and regional, national and internationally renowned speakers also take part at these conferences.
Everyone is welcomed to be part of the organization regardless of their background. Students are especially welcomed to help by volunteering at events, helping plan activities, etc.
In the upcoming months, the organization will be hosting three important events. Hispanic Fest 2015 is scheduled for 26 September (see ad in this edition), followed by the Youth Leadership Conference (sometime in November) and then the 11th Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Children’s Fiesta will take place on 19 December.
This year, Hispanic Fest 2015’s Title Sponsor will be ZT Motors of Fort Walton Beach. The Festival is a family-oriented, cultural and educational event showcasing the very best of Hispanic music, folkloric dances, arts and crafts, and the flavors and aromas of the delicious Latin cuisine. Special presentations by non-Hispanic performers will also take place and several other sponsors and vendors have already signed up.
The Festival is very important for the organization because it is the primary fundraiser for its needy children’s Fiesta and the general public is invited to support it by attending. Business sponsorships are welcomed and about 50 vendor spots will be available.
