Tips for flying Allegiant Air

Stephanie Pilecki, Public Relations Specialist, Allegiant Travel Company

  1. Baggage: To maintain low fares, Allegiant unbundles its airfares and allows passengers to pay only for amenities they want to use, including bags! Our passengers can choose to pay for carry-on baggage weighing up to 25 pounds (11 kilograms) or less and checked baggage up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms), or less. You can also bring one personal item such as a small bag or a backpack. Visit allegiantair.com/baggage-info to find more information about our baggage policy.
  2. Pre-pay for baggage online: It costs more to pay for luggage at the airport than it does online, before your trip. Pay online in the booking path to save money.
  3. Seat Selection: If you want to sit near your travel group, be sure to pay in advance and choose your seat online or over the phone. If you don’t mind where you sit, you can omit seat selection in the booking path and your seat will be randomly assigned when you check in for your flight.
  4. Tickets: Allegiant never oversells its flights. When you purchase a ticket, we commit to having your seat available for you and you are committing to occupying your seat. This means that all of our tickets are nonrefundable.
  5. TripFlex: We know that circumstances beyond their control may occur, and that is why we offer TripFlex in the booking path for a one-time low price. With TripFlex, you can make a change to your itinerary up one hour before your flight departs. It is also possible to cancel and receive a credit voucher for a future flight if you are unable to partake in your trip. Without TripFlex, changes and cancellations can be made for a $75 charge no less than 7 days before your scheduled flight date.
  6. Check-in and ticket printing: Save time and money by checking in online at Allegiant.com or on our mobile app, Allegiant2Go. You can print your boarding pass at home, or you can download your boarding pass on the Allegiant2Go app. Printing your boarding pass at the airport will cost you $5.
  7. Arriving at the airport: We recommend arriving at the airport two hours before your flight’s departure. Passengers must be checked in to their flight and have passed through security, and at the gate one hour before their flight.
  8. Flight Alerts: Be sure to receive flight alerts by signing up at Allegiant.com/flight-alerts, to receive the latest information on the status of your flight.
  9. On Board: Sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight! Drinks and snacks can be purchased on all Allegiant flights.
