 Someday at Christmas
70% of Black boys won't shed fatherless tears
Congregated laughter with no subjugated fear
Racism Frowned upon
Classism  Looked down upon
Santa in a chimney, the only lie we agree upon
Someday at Christmas
Black lives would have mattered all year.
Little black boys play with toy guns with no fear
We,
The American Dream Good Trouble paid for
The disciples Christ was slain for
We be Regal
Love for our queer people
A sequel that equally heals
A Peace the people can feel?
A peace the people can feel.
Someday at Christmas I will be the Mrs I dream of
Kisses in the morning
Maskless choirs that sing love
A Snow-covered summit,
Patriotism plummeted
A drum that beats and ticks to the vibration of true self loves reflection
Melanin, with no need for protection from the
Polite
Obedient
Loyal
Intelligent
Courageous
Efficient
Someday at Christmas
Coffee, and poetry with a side of you
Alarms of warm arms and hugs
Charm that kisses my past blues
Tear Kisses dismissing my shrugs
One day at Christmas I will have companionship
Revolutionary Black love
Hugs my sons can witness.
Plenty of forehead kisses
Whatever this thing called life is, we make it positive.
Someday at Christmas
I will not wish on a star
I will reach within reach to find where you are
A love that is true
I'll spend every day with you
I will say I love you and receive the same
A herbal cure for pandemia pain
Financial freedom to sustain momentous gain
Someday at Christmas time
Some day…
