HOPE SQUAD MEDIA EVENT

David Triana Posted: January 9, 2020

January 6th marked the official launch of United for a Good Cause, Inc’s HOPE SQUAD Suicide Prevention Program for the Okaloosa County School District.  The event was attended by dignitaries and media from around the region.

The activity started with remarks by State Representative Mel Ponder.  He expressed his appreciation for the program being brought to the area and his hope to see it in every school in the panhandle.

Marcus Chambers, Okaloosa County School District Superintendent, shared his excitement about the partnership with United for a Good Cause Inc. to implement it in the county’s schools.  Mr. Chambers also spoke about the effects on not just the family, but the entire school and community when a child is lost to suicide.

The event was led by Peggy Brockman, as she introduced the program’s purpose and elements to the attentive audience.  Mrs. Brockman will lead this program for the organization and will work closely with the school system during its implementation and execution of it.

The activity also included remarks by Eglin Federal Credit Union’s CEO, Mr. Jerry Williams, and Mr. David Deliman, Market Vice President for Cox’s Communications.
