HISPANICS AND FRIENDS LINKED – Virtual Round-Table

David Triana Posted: June 5, 2020

28 May:  Conexion Media Groups hosted another outstanding virtual event.  It was called “Key Skills for Life’s Journey” and the round table panel included Mr. Gary Loster, an internationally recognized speaker, lecturer, and adjunct professor.  Mr. Loster called in from Michigan and has travel extensively throughout the world to work with leaders of corporations and government.

We also had the honor of having Elder Ray Fauntroy calling in from Miami.  He is 81 years old and was a leader of the voter-registration drives of the 1960s and at times, he was the driver for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Elder Ray, like Mr. Loster, are huge advocates for the youth and have established programs to help them learn job and leadership, and entrepreneurship skills.

The other panelists were Jeremiah, Joshua, and Jordan West who are 15, 12, and 10 years old respectively and are the founders and leaders of the Champions of Change non-profit organization.  Their organization’s purpose is to empower people of all ages to serve as “Change Agents” and look for opportunities to make a lasting impact in their communities.

The West kids asked questions of the panelists dealing with issues such as “how to push past the fear dealing with COVID-19 and preparing for success in the future.”

Mr. Loster and Elder Fauntroy, using their expertise, experiences, and desire to mentor kids to think about working hard to be successful, offered insightful responses that all in attendance during the ZOOM session benefitted from.  The event was also shared via Facebook Live and received hundreds of views from throughout the United States.

Conexion will continue hosting such interesting events virtually while the COVID-19 situation continues.  The next event will be a Business Networking Social in mid-June.
