“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” Steve Jobs

At some point in our life, we are all led to believe that if we can live up to someone else’s dream of us or exceed someone else’s dream in comparison, that is what will make us successful.

This misconception follows us throughout our lifetime and permeates every aspect of our thinking. We are hit with unrealistic expectations through social media, magazines, newspapers, radio, television; the list goes on and on. Their main goal is to tell us how we are to think, act, dress, and feel. The type of messaging that they are sending out can have unlimited damage to our spirit and our dreams. Can you imagine how much we all could accomplish or be if we spent the same amount of time just living and growing through our own purpose?

I have been so fortunate to be able to work with children of all ages since retiring from teaching, and it amazes me how full of self and possibilities children are until they are not. When does the open mouth smile and the ‘can-do’ spirit fade?  When do they stop raising their hands, singing, dancing, and telling stories? It is that first precise moment in time when they find out that they somehow have missed the mark. If they could only run faster, jump higher; be taller, smarter and prettier. If only they could be someone else, then the world would be a better place. This may be the reason that so many hurt people feel the need to hurt others, in order to avoid having to face what they perceive to be their shortcomings.

But to truly be a success: find your own road, connect your own dots, trust yourself, and be the BEST YOU THAT YOU CAN BE. Sometimes, this is not easy. Most of the time, it’s a lot of work. But, somewhere on the journey, you’ll find the joy you have been looking for, because you’ll be you. If children learn that they can fall down, fail, and get back up again, they will not be afraid to step out and create their universe.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important: have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs

I have found my passion in helping people find their road. The destination is not the reward. The value comes from the lessons that you learn through the journey. Don’t waste time being a smaller version of the magnificent version that you can be. Call me today and let me help you find your success.
