Since long time ago, scientist had try to find real solutions for terminal ill diseases, epidemics and pandemics through surgical procedures and medicines. However, so many years later still some life cells cannot be artificially created such as the egg, spermatozoid, the blood and the bone marrow in any clinical or scientific laboratory worldwide. We still depend on the goodness of people, of their kindness and their sense of compassion to help each other in critical/medical situations that will required the blood donation, organ donor or in this case the donation of bone marrow.

The Medina Rodriguez family is a reliable example on how important is to donate bone marrow. Three years ago their only daughter was diagnosed with Hemoglobin Hakkari. After many blood analysis, moments of uncertainty and sleepless nights, finally it was found the possibility of an experimental procedure that will change the child’s life.  The option was to do a bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, the father was found 100% compatible with his daughter and the procedure was possible to be done without any more delays. Ninety-three days after the bone marrow transplant was a complete success and the already pale and weak body started showing signs of life again, her face show better completion, her hair star to grow back again, and those few steps that she could only walk, became long runs; a smile was back again but not only in her face but as well as in the face of her parents, medical team, and the rest of the family. This was a happy ending but not all the situation are the same, sometimes it takes many months or even years to find a matching bone marrow donor.

Since many centuries ago, we have the ability to extend life and I believe, is our duty to help the science to accomplish that. You can also give life by registering as a bone marrow donor and be part of God’s miracle work to save somebody’s life.

Be a helping hand and give Love and Life. Please register as a Bone Marrow Donor! It will be in your hands to give a second chance.
