CHICAGO, Aug. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — For the fifteenth consecutive year, the Coors Light Líderes program will help Latino nonprofit leaders and volunteers conquer their mountains. Coors Light will help five dedicated individuals improve their community through $10,000 grants to nonprofits that leaders represent. Winners selected as “Leaders” will also receive access to the Change Makers Alumni Network. Nominations and nominations will be open until September 21 in CoorsLightLideres.com.
For 15 years, the program has been dedicated to empowering Latino pioneers who, through their innovative leadership initiatives, make a transformative impact on the communities they serve, achieve personal and professional success, and are a role model for the next generation of Latino leaders.
To apply, anyone can nominate themselves or others by filling out a simple form about the impact the nominee has on the community and the nonprofit they represent. Nominees must be of Hispanic or Latino descent, be between the ages of 21 and 39, and be actively involved in a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an impact on the Latino community. The winners will be announced on October 13 and will be honored at the winners’ celebration that will take place in March 2022.
“The lack of funding and resources creates major obstacles for Latino nonprofit leaders and volunteers working to improve their communities,” said Kayla Garcia, community affairs manager for Molson Coors. “We want to let them know that Coors Light wants to help them. We are committed to recognizing the impact of Latino leaders in the community and continuing to help them achieve greater achievements in the years to come.”
Overcoming obstacles also requires being able to collaborate with leaders who share the same vision and passion for helping the community. In order to help those selected network, learn and grow, Coors Light Líderes grantees will be able to access the Change Makers Alumni Network: a place where leaders can connect and collaborate with more than 140 pioneers with the same vision.
Since the launch of the Coors Light Líderes program, fourteen Latino nonprofits have received more than $350,000 in grants. Adding to the positive impact this program generates are other initiatives that the brand and its owner company coordinate to empower diverse consumers. In 2020, Molson Coors launched Project Justice, a program dedicated to empowerment, equity, community building, and justice for Organizations Belonging to Black, Indigenous, and Colored People (BIPOC). Since its launch, $3 million has been donated to organizations dedicated to BIPOC individuals in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Coors Light has a long history of empowering students of color through donations to historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) and fundraisers for LGBTQ nonprofits through the Tap Into Change program.
