Branford McAllister, PhD (Colonel, USAF-retired), is a consultant with McAllister Associates. He has 43 years professional experience demonstrating a dedication to public service, passion for education, inspired leadership of people, impeccable management of resources, and an impeccable integrity.

Dr. McAllister is a distinguished graduate of the USAF Academy with a BS in mathematics. He has an MA in history, an MEA in engineering administration, and a PhD in applied management. Dr. McAllister completed pilot training, F-15 training, and the F-15 Fighter Weapons School. He had flying tours in Arizona, Germany, Virginia, Florida, and Iceland; and staff assignments in Virginia and Washington DC. He commanded organizations at flight, squadron, and wing levels.

Following his Air Force career, Dr. McAllister returned to the Gulf Coast for a career as a test engineer, mathematician, and subject matter expert in operations analysis, and modeling & simulation, supporting weapons development at Eglin AFB. He served in executive level management, as director of developmental test support to the 96th Test Wing at Eglin. Dr. McAllister has been an instructor at the university level—on-ground and on-line—teaching strategy, organizational dynamics and change, leadership, systems theory, and quantitative methods.

Dr. McAllister has volunteered in local communities for years, including mentoring students in the inner city of Washington, DC and in our local community, high school booster club president, high school baseball coach, and school advisory councils. He is a member of the Niceville Kiwanis Club and the Crestview, Niceville-Valparaiso, and Fort Walton Beach chambers of commerce. He serves on the County School District Career and Technical Education Advisory Council.

Dr. McAllister has been married for 42 years to Carolyn McAllister, the principal at Plew Elementary School. They have been residents of Okaloosa County for 30 years, and have two grown children who are successful products of the Okaloosa school system. They are members of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Niceville.

Dr. McAllister is running for School Board, District 5. Dr. McAllister is passionate about the quality of public education. Long before the most recent tragedies, he advocated that the safety of our children is our #1 priority. He brings a new vision for our school board, to be representative of and responsive to all citizens. He brings strong, accountable leadership, new and different perspectives, and innovative approaches to problem solving. He preaches sensible business practices for school resources, and the need to maintain excellence in education to prepare ALL students to be career or college ready.
