A Journey of Passion and Excellence: The Inspiring Story of Damariz Lassalle

By Lynnette De Jesus, Chief Operating Officer, JNB Services LLC

Damariz Lassalle’s transition from Human Resources to esthetics is a powerful testament to her adaptability, determination, and commitment to excellence. With certifications in Puerto Rico and licenses in Kansas and Alabama, Damariz has distinguished herself in the field of esthetics, mastering a blend of traditional and innovative skincare techniques. As the owner of D’mariz Lassalle Esthetics, she is dedicated to enhancing her clients’ natural beauty through personalized care and expert treatment plans.

From Business Administration to Beauty Care

Damariz’s professional journey began with a degree in Business Administration, focusing on Human Resources, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She furthered her education with a Master’s Degree in Justice Systems, specializing in Mediation and Arbitration, from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan. For nearly a decade, Damariz thrived in Human Resources, excelling in recruitment and training.

However, her life took a turn when her husband’s military duties required him to be away from home. Balancing her role as a mother, Damariz sought a new path that aligned with her evolving circumstances. Enrolling in a course on Body, Facial, and Massage Aesthetics at the Mayagüez Institute of Technology, she discovered a passion for esthetics that would redefine her career.

Embracing a New Path

Esthetics quickly became more than just a career shift for Damariz; it was a calling. Her passion for skincare and her desire to positively impact others’ lives led her to leave behind her established career in Human Resources. This transition was not without challenges, particularly when she moved to Kansas. Despite language barriers, Damariz pursued an aesthetics program at Bellus Academy, completing it in just ten months and earning her license to practice in Kansas and Alabama.

Balancing Family and Professional Life

Achieving balance between family life and professional ambitions has been crucial to Damariz’s success. She established a structured schedule that allows her to dedicate quality time to her family while effectively managing her business. This balance has enabled her to thrive both as a mother and as an entrepreneur.

Guidance for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Damariz advises aspiring entrepreneurs to “fall in love with your dream, your company, and the people involved in it. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who inspire you. Keep an agenda of ideas, focus on your ideal client, and strive to exceed their expectations.”

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Damariz envisions her studio as a platform for mentoring and empowering aspiring estheticians. She aims to provide opportunities for others to grow in the field, much like she did, starting from humble beginnings and building a successful business.

Through her journey, Damariz Lassalle exemplifies how passion, resilience, and a commitment to excellence can lead to extraordinary achievements. Her story is an inspiration to anyone seeking to reinvent themselves and pursue their true calling.
