A Christmas to Remember!

By David Triana

There is nothing more powerful than being able to do something for another, especially a person in need, without expecting anything in return.  That is the key to charity, doing it from the heart, with passion and because it is the right thing to do.  All children should be given the opportunity to have a Merry Christmas!

UnitedXmas1On 19 December, the leadership and supporters of United for a Good Cause Inc., hosted the 11th Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle needy children’s Fiesta.  It was held at the beautiful Striving for Perfection Ministries’ facilities.  A huge thank you to Pastor Boldin and his staff for the unmatched support and tireless work to help us make this event the great success it was!

Hundreds of children and families attended the 5 hour, Latin Flavored Fiesta that had a little bit of everything; from a magic comedy show by Vernon and Margaret Linton’s Magic Comedy Show, to Geraldin Martinez Lumi Pod Photo Booth, AmeriCorps was there with Face paintingUnitedXmas5 and a Christmas Card making table and DJ Zoran and several area musicians provided the stage entertainment which also included Reid Soria, The Pyramid Players, Studio Fuzion’s Hip Hop Kids, Skylar Babin and Paul, Ronna and Ciara Therrell, as well as several performing groups from Striving for Perfection Ministries.

UnitedXmas3Tasty food was served to all that attended and yes, Santa and his elves were also there after making a grand arrival aboard a beautiful stretch Humvee limousine from 654 Limo!  Additionally, dozens of special needs families also participated.

Over 1,000 toys and 50 bicycles were given out throughout the day courtesy of Toys for Tots and our generous Emerald Coast community.

We invite you to check out the photo gallery for the event, as well as the wonderful video created by Five Star Photograhics, the official photographer/videographer of the event.  You can see both either on the website or the Facebook site for the organization!  Go to:  www.unitedforagoodcause.org

United for a Good Cause is proud to lead the way within the Hispanic community in many other ways, but the Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle is for sure its signature event and one that the organization’s leadership and supporters consider their “Gift to the Community!”
