OFF THE WALL:  Mosaics of the Explorers

January 28, The Martin House, Tallahassee, Florida:  “Of the Wall” featured presentations about The Explorer Mosaics of Anton Refregier from the Americana Hotel, Bal Harbour, 1957.  The event’s three hours of conviviality brought the Bal Masque Ballroom to life. Local citizens came out in support of the arts and in particular the Mosaics gifted to Tallahassee in July 2011. With presentations that gave support to the mosaics through a visual trip through time. Art through the ages transformed the Martin House into a portal in time where the history of world exploration, art, music and politics came to life!  Delicious food provided by Samantha’s Gift Event Planning complimented the theme.

In a well-orchestrated evening, theater performances and speakers alternatingly shared the stage. David Triana, President of Conexión Media Group, was the Master of Ceremonies.  The participants included Tallahassee Hispanic Theater, Florida Chief Archaeologist Mary Glowacki, Theater with a Mission, and Florida Architect and Author Deborah Desilets was the keynote speaker.  Musical performances by the Acoustic Duo of McCall and Katareen and 5 Notas completed what many commented was a very special and fun evening.  The event was co-organized by Conexión Media Group, Inkdot, and Samantha’s Gift Event Planning.  A huge thank you to Chuy’s Fine Tex Mex, B-EZ Graphix, and Segway tours for sponsoring the activity and to everyone that attended.  Thanks also to Bohemian Babushka for her support of the activity by helping with the social media publicity for it.
