Nine-year Girl Donates Bikes to Children In Crisis

By Ken Hair

Nine-year old Marlee Green has learned to be charitable at an early age.  During her recent birthday party, she decided to have a fundraiser to purchase bikes for the children living at the Children In Crisis Neighborhood.  She asked her guests to bring a donation or gift card so she could purchase bikes instead of toys for her birthday.  She also started a gift card campaign in her neighborhood to help.  She raised over $300 to purchase bikes for the CIC children that didn’t have one.

When Marlee delivered the bikes to CIC, she was really proud to explain, “I just wanted to help the children at the Children’s Neighborhood.  Some children don’t have as many things as I do.”

Ken Hair, CIC President & CEO said, “When Marlee said that she wanted to donate bikes to the children living at the CIC Neighborhood, it made me very happy!  This is the second year she has donated her birthday presents to CIC.”
