Florida Climate Week Belongs to You
A statewide invitation to build FCW 2026 together
By Thais López Vogel
Every year, people ask us what Florida Climate Week (FCW) is all about. The answer is simple: it’s about people.
It belongs to the communities, organizations, educators, students, local leaders, innovators, and everyday Floridians taking action to build a stronger, more resilient future.
Now that the call for event proposals for FCW 2026 is open, I want to extend a personal invitation: help us shape this experience.
At the VoLo Foundation, we serve as the conveners of Florida Climate Week. Our role is to create the space and invite people to come together. What happens next is up to you.
Looking back at 2025, the power of this collective effort is clear: more than 1,800 participants gathered at 83 free events, turning a single week into a time of collaboration, education, and solutions across the state.
FCW is not a top-down event; it is a grassroots movement.

We don’t arrive each year with a pre-set agenda. Instead, we open the doors and invite Floridians to contribute their ideas, knowledge, and solutions. The result is something no single organization could design on its own.
Climate challenges are diverse, as are the people working to address them. Some are restoring ecosystems. Others are advancing clean energy, promoting sustainable agriculture, improving public health, educating future generations, strengthening community resilience, or developing innovative technologies. Many are simply helping their neighbors understand the issues and become part of the solution.
Floridians come together to learn, connect, share, and inspire one another. Conversations matter, as does the sense of community that emerges when people realize they aren’t working alone. Florida Climate Week is free and open to everyone because we believe we all have a role to play in creating a sustainable future.
We invite non-profits, universities, businesses, community groups, local governments, and individuals to host an event as part of FCW 2026.
Whether you propose a workshop, a panel discussion, a community gathering, an educational presentation, a volunteer activity, a field experience, an arts event, or something else entirely, we want to hear from you.
You can host an in-person event anywhere in the state or contribute a virtual session to be shared with audiences statewide. You bring the idea; we’ll help you shape it.
We don’t yet know exactly what Florida Climate Week 2026 will look like—and that’s exciting—because it will be shaped by the people and organizations who care enough to step up. It will be built by the communities already doing the work.
Grants are also available to support the participation of eligible 501(c) (3) organizations.
So, if you have expertise, share it. If you have a project, present it. If you have a voice, use it.
FCW belongs to all of us, and together we can make this year’s celebration the most dynamic and impactful one yet.
We invite you to join us and help write the next chapter.
Welcome to Florida Climate Week 2026.
