We hope everyone is doing great!  I recently went and watched an outstanding movie.  It is called “Miracles from Heaven” and it start Jennifer Garner and a wonderful cast that includes Eugenio Derbez.  It is a beautiful movie based on the true story of a little girl from Texas who was miraculously healed of a deadly condition she had with her intestines.  Eugenio Derbez did a great job as the Mexican physician who was treating the young girl.  Eugenio is a multi-talented actor, producer and director who many have seen in the movie “Instructions Not Included.”  That movie broke records a couple of years ago for Hispanic films released nation-wide within the United States.  I highly recommend everyone goes and watches “Miracles from Heaven.”  It is just a great movie that I know will touch you.

This month, Conexión Media Group, in partnership with the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce (BBMC) will host a free ½ day seminar in Tallahassee titled “Connecting with the Hispanic Market.”  It will take place on April 28th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee.  I take this opportunity to thank Gina Kinchlow of the BBMC for her support.  We also thank Dr. Sindy Chapa and attorneys Gisela Rodriguez and Aisha Chaney for being a direct part of it via their presentations.  See the related ad in this edition and also look for it in Facebook and other social media outlets.  We have sent information to Tallahassee newspapers and websites to promote it.  We have given similar seminars to members of the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce and we hope to take them throughout the area this year and next.

Our region’s Hispanic community continues to grow and we want to make sure people know about the positive impact of that growth.   We want to play a positive role in the growth that will continue in our North, NW Florida and SE Alabama areas.

Also within this edition, there is an advertisement for United for a Good Cause’s 3rd Annual Leadership Conference, which will be held on April 23rd in Fort Walton Beach.  We hope that ALL parents who may be reading this and have kids in 8th – 12th grades and live in the vicinity of Fort Walton Beach will register their kids to attend.  It will be a great conference.  See the ad in this edition and also look for info in Facebook.

Cinco de Mayo will arrive before our next edition comes out!  As you will see throughout this edition, several of our advertisers are having specials on that day at their restaurants.  We hope you will take advantage of those great specials and go out and have a good time while you support those that help make this newspaper possible.  We would not be able to publish Conexión without the advertisers!  We welcome several new clients in this edition, including Pappadakis from Quincy.  Pappadakis has some great vehicles in their ad and in their website!

Do not forget amigos!  Mother’s Day is right around the corner!  Until next time.  May God bless everyone and we thank you for reading Conexión!
