Hispanic Alliance for Talented Students

Tallahassee Community College has launched a new program called the Hispanic Alliance for Talented Students (H.A.T.S.) that promotes intercultural understanding and empowerment for Hispanic students. This program will accept a new cohort of students for the June Express session of the Summer semester and another cohort for the Fall semester of each year. These students will matriculate through their first semester at TCC together as they are placed in similar courses, engage in career building and goal-setting enrichment sessions, and participate in many more empowering initiatives.

As the cohort progresses to their next term, students of this program will be provided holistic support through being paired with committed mentors. In addition to being highly encouraged to join other TCC organizations that will help build and enhance their resumes.

Application Requirements:

To apply to the program a student is required to:

  • Be of Hispanic descent
  • Be a high school graduate from Leon, Gadsden, or Wakulla County.
  • Show a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher -OR- College Level ACT/SAT scores.
  • Complete the FAFSA form for the proper academic year associated with the start of the program.

Students that are accepted in the program receive up to 6-credit hours for FREE on the select choice of courses and a textbook stipend.

Application Deadlines:

Applications for the Summer 2021 June Express session which begins on June 22 are open now through the extended deadline of Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.

Fall Applications will open on Monday, June 28th.
