LOS ANGELES /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — LatinX21, the world’s only Latino and Hispanic-focused video sharing platform, launched “Mi Cuento, the LatinX21 Immigration Project.” This initiative was developed to put a face to the countless Latino and Hispanic families that have settled in the United States throughout history.

The project invites people living in the United States, with roots in any of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries around the world, to record videos and upload their personal story telling how they, their relatives or acquaintances settled here.

The Mi Cuento project will remain in effect throughout 2021, videos submitted no later than June 15, 2021 will be competing for a first prize of $1,000. Videos can be as simple as a narration recorded with an iPhone or as elaborate as a professional production, edited interviews with family members or even animations. Creativity is encouraged, but the key is to commemorate these important stories.

A panel of LatinX21 judges and members, who will vote for their favorites by liking it, will determine the winner. Membership in LatinX21.com is free, so inviting friends and family to register and vote will increase the chances of winning for content creators.

“As the daughter of Latino/Hispanic immigrants, I want to show how much our people contribute to the United States,” said Dinah Perez, founder of LatinX21. “By confronting negative stereotypes of immigrants, I hope to foster a culture of tolerance and inclusion for them and their descendants. Celebrating the lives, skills and traditions of people from Spanish-speaking cultures has always been the goal of the platform, and this project is an excellent option for them to proudly express their personal stories.”
