A wonderful and much needed facility is coming soon to Okaloosa County!

The lead organization for this project is Saving Grace Women’s Home based in Houston, Texas, which has operated a recovery center successfully for many years.  They are also the organization that operate the Project Hope Recovery Center for men in Fort Walton Beach.

Dawn Siegel, a local business woman and ministry leader, was recently named the Executive Director for the Florida women’s home.  One of her first tasks is to find a suitable building or home for the recovery center.

Saving Grace Women’s Home, Florida, will be a place that aims to help women recover from additions, depression, homelessness, and abuse.

Its primary purpose is to provide an effective and comprehensive Christian faith-based solution to life-controlling problems.   The organization believes that, by applying biblical principles, people with life controlling addictions can become mentally-sound, emotionally-balanced, socially-adjusted, physically-well, and spiritually-alive.

Their 12-month faith-based residential program assists individuals in recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and the life-controlling problems associated with it. In addition, residents work on overcoming rebellion and the self-destructive behaviors associated with their substance abuse and developing positive life skills.  Residents also participate in spiritual growth activities, individual counseling, and various outreaches.

The organization also offers a work-study program.  Through the program, residents have the opportunity to develop a strong work ethic while learning new skills and the importance of teamwork and a good attitude. Work study consists of tasks such as administrative tasks, kitchen clean-up, laundry, janitorial duties, simple maintenance projects and wood working. These activities help residents understand personal responsibility for their own living space and the importance of serving others.

Dawn is actively seeking the support of local area individuals, businesses, and/or organizations that want to help make this project a reality as soon as possible.

Recently, Stephanie Wedel, founder of Freedom Life Compass, a local non-profit organization, donated $2,000.00 to Saving Grace Florida.

Saving Grace Women’s Home Florida will be a blessing to many women in our region and will surely change lives!  To make such great projects a reality, it takes the support of the entire community.
