3rd Annual Women Empowering Women Symposium

By Dawn Novy, Event Chairwoman

On Saturday, May 18th at Northwest Florida State College the Emerald Coast Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) hosted its 3rd Annual Women Empowering Women Symposium.  With one-hundred ambitious and enthusiastic women present, the energy was abundant and palpable!

The symposium, an outreach and fundraising event, is everything ABWA stands for; to empower, facilitate and support the ambitions of women of diverse backgrounds, professionals and career levels.

Felicia Johnson, National President of the American Business Women’s Association stated, “This was one of the greatest symposiums I have ever visited. I plan on attending again even if I am not speaking!”

Attendees shared:

“Events like this help women become inspired and empowered to start anew. ABWA provided just such an opportunity. Thank you!”

“Speak up! It’s inspiring to meet women who have fought and paved the way for the younger generation to be able to speak up. There is a lot more to do but hearing them “roar” makes me want to do more and be more.”

This year’s event was made possible by our generous and forward thinking Signature Sponsors: Northwest Florida State College, Carpe Diem Community Solutions Cox Communications, Northwest Florida Ears, Nose & Throat and Stakeholder Sponsors: Gulf Power and Southern Star Printing & Promotions.

For more information about membership go to www.abwa-ecc.org.

Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month, 5:30pm-7:30pm at The Event Room on Hurlburt Road.
