MIAMI , March 30, 2024 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — SABER College is pleased to announce the launch of its English as a Second Language (ESOL) Program for April 1 , 2024 This program, designed to meet the communication needs in the community, will offer online classes and aims to provide an exceptional education through personalized instruction and support leveraged in cutting-edge technology, which will facilitate the learning of the English language in students with diverse mother tongues.

With a total of 900 hours of complete online instruction, students will acquire communication skills to function successfully in their daily lives, to join the labor market and social integration activities in their new country of residence.

The program is divided into five progressive levels, ranging from ESOL level I to level V, with emphasis on the development of listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, as well as intercultural communication. The program is completely online (3 times a week via Zoom and two asynchronous days with teaching support), and includes practical sessions in oral communication, listening comprehension, pronunciation and debates to improve interaction skills.

To enroll in the program, prospective students must be 16 years old or older and not enrolled in the K-12 school system. In addition, they must have obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED). At the beginning of the program, through a diagnostic test, students will be placed in the level that best suits their command of the English language:

Level 1: Without any ability to use the English language:

At this level, the student does not understand or produce any English words or phrases. It communicates only through gestures or basic signs. He cannot read or write in English.

Level 2: Minimum command of English:

The student can understand and use some Basic English words and phrases. Can communicate in very simple and repetitive situations. You can read and write simple phrases and sentences in English.

Level 3: Basic English proficiency:

The student can understand and use Basic English vocabulary and grammar. You can communicate in everyday situations such as shopping, asking for directions, or making a doctor’s appointment. Can read and write short, simple texts in English.

Level 4: Intermediate English proficiency:

The student can understand and use broader vocabulary and grammar in English. You can communicate effectively in work and social situations. Can read and write texts of moderate complexity in English.

Level 5: Advanced English proficiency:

The student can understand and use complex vocabulary and grammar in English. You can communicate effectively in a variety of situations, both formal and informal. Can read and write complex texts in English.

SABER College’s online ESOL program admission counselors will assist students in determining their eligibility for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) , which offers financial assistance to cover the costs of tuition and other educational expenses. Likewise, SABER College participates in the federal SAVE program, which allows immigrant students to officially verify their immigration status and access more financial aid options to learn English.
