Unity

By: Ivan Orlando Blanco Archilla

Unity.

The word we is meaningful to you

The word is meaningful to me

But the true meaning we often oversee

It’s just a word we abuse like love

It’s the word that fits like a glove

When we live by it with respect

For the one above

How much we struggled through history to give it praise

Yet we still struggle to define unity everyday

A simple word a simple meaning

Has gone astray. Until today.

As time goes by we start to find the simple truth

Unity, depends on me and you

Look around and you will find

we are living proof

The same amount of energy we use for hate

We can unite and love each other everyday

Honor one another, respect each other

It’s not too late.
