On March 9, 2021, Secretary Mayorkas announced that Venezuelans may apply for TPS (Temporary State of Protection).

TPS is designated until September 9, 2022. Applicants must register by September 5, 2021 and test continuous physical presence in the United States from March 9, 2021.

If USCIS approves your application and filed an Application for Employment Authorization, you will receive an EAD with an expiration date of September 9, 2022. TPS is not Permanent Residence or Citizenship. It is a temporary status that allows work and driver’s license.

Consult with an experienced immigration attorney for more information.
