Touch the life of a needy child this Christmas!

By David Triana

In a couple of weeks it will be Thanksgiving and then a bit after Christmas!  During this time of the year, thoughts of “thankfulness and charity” pass through the minds of many people.  The majority will direct those thoughts into giving gifts to family and friends.  Others, they will include “doing something for others”, for persons that they may never get to meet.  What a great privilege the majority of us in this nation have by having the ability to give something to our family and friends, but an even greater privilege is that of being charitable to total strangers, especially children from low income families.  Are you ready to “touch the life” of a child positively this Christmas?

eccm2015-7We live in a beautiful area, where tourists pay thousands of dollars to stay in our beautiful hotels, enjoy our emerald waters, our white sand beaches and all that our area has to offer.  But, one thing that this area also excels in is the generosity of its business community, its people and the countless numbers of people that volunteer in the charity activities that take place throughout the year.

United for a Good Cause Inc. its leaders, members, and supporters, have as their mission to inculcate into young people in our area, the importance of service, giving and of working in unity to positively affect the beautiful region in which we live.

eccm2015-16One of the projects that we fulfill our mission through is the Annual Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle Children’s Fiesta.  This coming December 17, 1pm – 7pm at the Emerald Coast Convention Center in Fort Walton Beach, we will host our 12th consecutive one and we expect over 1,000 persons.  (see ad in this edition of Conexión).

The Christmas Miracle Fiesta’s primary purpose is for all that attend, especially the kids, the opportunity to just have a great time and for the needy families to have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  Hope, Charity…Love, three of the greatest thing a person can give to another.  That is what we “give” via the Fiesta.

eccm2015-9There are thousands of needy children in our area, countless families who just do not have the means to give their children gifts during Christmas.  One thing is for sure, United for a Good Cause Inc., its leadership, supporters and volunteers, cannot do this on our own…so, we invite everyone so that TOGETHER, in UNITY, we can “put a smile on a needy child’s face this Christmas!”

The Emerald Coast Christmas Miracle was inspired by “Ramon’s Miracle on 31st Street” in Tucson, Arizona, an event that Ramón has been organizing since 1973! Last year, our friend Ramón’s Fiesta hosted over 10,000 kids and his concept is the same one we follow.  EVERYTHING IS FREE at our Fiesta!

eccm2015-13Consequently, Ramon’s Miracle and our Miracle on the Emerald Coast, two years ago, inspired “The Christmas Miracle in Puriscal”, a small town on the outskirts of San Jose, Costa Rica!

Are you ready to make a difference in the life of a child?  Call us and be part of our Christmas Miracle!

May God bless you and may you have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas

I leave you with some words of wisdom:

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.
