Personally, I would define wellness as the experience of feeling good, happy, healthy and satisfied with myself and with life. This includes being able to have good mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health that allows me to live in peace and harmony.
Although it is true, the definition of well-being is related to the needs and tastes of each individual; However, sometimes we only focus on looking good, but well-being goes a little beyond just eating healthy and exercising, it also corresponds to the search for internal balance to achieve that peace and tranquility so essential in our lives, for, as the word itself indicates, being well.
Having Emotional well-being may seem, a priori, something simple, but it is not. We must work on our emotions to feel good and have a fuller life, in which we know ourselves more and more, we are able to adapt to the ups and downs of life and we have the necessary flexibility to learn new things. In short, to be able to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Emotional well-being is not innate. We are not born with it and it does not stay at the same level throughout our lives. We must work it through tools to feel better with ourselves and with those around us. I share some techniques that we can put into practice to achieve better emotional well-being:
– Identify your emotions
– Sleep well
– Take moments for yourself (allow yourself 15 minutes to do nothing)
– Enjoy the simplest and most everyday things in life
– Releases energy and stress
– Live in the present (what you have right now is the only thing you can enjoy)
– Be grateful and generous
– Ask for help when you need it
– Love yourself.
Taking care of your emotional well-being will help you to know how to manage your daily life and see the world in a positive way. It will allow you to have confidence to cope with daily challenges, have more health, take advantage of opportunities and enjoy life. And the best way to achieve that emotional balance is your own willpower.
