By Cynthia Rose (aka Cynthia Portalatín), Tallahassee, Florida
Six feet apart
Six feet under
Here in the dark
All we hear is thunder
Wear the mask
It’s our new task
Miss how we’d bask
In each other’s laughs
Elbows for hugs
As if we were thugs
Necks for knees
Don’t kill us, please
Six feet apart
Or is it six feet under
You throw the dart
I’ve lost all the wonder
Jaded jewels
Fall from my eyes
We need new tools
Not senseless goodbyes
