Samaritan’s Purse has maintained a presence in Central and South America, as well as in the Caribbean. Headquartered in Boone, North Carolina, United States of America, this international Christian relief organization specializes in providing emergency assistance and spiritual support in places where few people are working. Currently, the organization operates various offices in 17 countries, including Bolivia and Colombia, to help victims of war, famine, poverty, natural disasters and persecution, all in the name of Jesus.

“Samaritan’s Purse has ministered to families in Spanish-speaking countries for decades,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse. “We want to motivate and mobilize the Hispanic community by communicating in their own language and being able to continue working together for the good of the Gospel.”

In Colombia, our teams are providing food, shelter and medical assistance to immigrant families who come from Venezuela in search of a better life. Over the past few years, millions of “walkers” have fled their homeland, leaving behind a collapsed health system, food insecurity and violence. Since 2018, Samaritan’s Purse has ministered to more than 300,000 Venezuelan migrants, reminding them that they are not alone or forgotten.

Over the past two years, Samaritan’s Purse has mobilized eight Mobile Emergency Hospitals around the world, including one in Honduras, after Hurricanes Eta and Iota hit Central America, causing catastrophic flooding and landslides. Samaritan’s Purse teams, made up of doctors and nurses among others, treated more than 3,700 patients throughout northeastern Honduras at its Mobile Emergency Hospital facilities and through its medical staff. Also, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Samaritan’s Purse medical team treated more than 960 COVID-19 patients in its mobile hospitals, through its special respiratory care units, in places like Italy, the city of New York, western North Carolina, southeastern California, and into Mississippi.

The website is kept up-to-date on a regular basis, with relevant stories of what God is doing through Samaritan’s Purse through programs like U.S. Disaster Relief, Children’s Heart Project, International Relief and World Medical Mission. Samaritan’s Purse responds to the physical and spiritual needs of individuals in crisis, especially in places where very few people are working. Led by its President and CEO, Franklin Graham, Samaritan’s Purse works in more than 100 countries to help victims of war, disease, natural disasters, poverty, famine and persecution.
