We just finished officially celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, and if you recall it was jam packed for BB. Primeramente there was the HOLA Tally Festival that started before the official Sept. 15 date, porque we just couldn’t wait! A month is definitivamente not enough to celebrate our awesomeness, pero we sure did make the most of it!!! Despues de la fiesta en Tallahassee, it was off to Destin/Ft.Walton to enjoy the Hispanic Fest 2016. Not only was it a great event, the proceeds went to the holiday party they’ve had many years now for underprivileged children and families via the nonprofit United for a Good Cause. After that wonderful trip, it was time to show the Hispanic Voz to the powers that be in Consumer Reports.
Si Beautifuls, after 80 years, Consumer Reports actively seeked out a group of us to help them understand and reach the Latino market. We were invited to New York to attend their annual meeting and meet with staff to share our opinions and conocimientos. You know our time has come cuando a company of that stature seeks you out. Pero that’s just the beginnings.
For better focus, unity and learning en como fortalecer our voces, it was off to Orlando and the LATISM conference. Over 100 influencers were invited to share their experiences and to live, vivir the power we have when we work together. La diferencia es total. The solidarity, total. The sense of purpose and family, total.
On this note of family Babushka shares part 2 of the Twofer. First, we have our culture, nuestra gente. Secondly, we must realize this and be grateful for it. No es coincidencia en BB’s mind that we give credence and kudos to our culture, and then go into a month that is for saying Gracias. In a country that lets us say so. And please Beautifuls, say so. The founding fathers made this pais so we could have our say and not live in fear of stating our opinions. We know this isn’t always the way it plays out, but if you don’t vote and use that right they gave us, then we will surely siempre live in fear.
If your family has come from a dictatorship/communist regime then you will understand how Voting Truly is a Bendición. Let us be grateful for our chance to speak our truth. To be with our families without fear of deportation, of harm; in peace.
