JORGE BARANI INTERVIEW:
CONEXION (C): At what age did you “know” that you wanted to be a Ballet Dancer and what inspired you?
JORGE (J): I realized that I wanted to be a ballet dancer at age 8. My inspiration was my mom. She was a ballet dancer.
(C): Was there a particular role that you “dreamt about doing” when you decided to become a dancer? Has that dream been fulfilled?
(J): Two roles that I dream to dance are Espartacus and Basilio in ballet Don Quixote. I can’t wait to have that opportunity, but for now I’ll just have to continue working hard for when the opportunity comes.
(C): Do you have a message for kids out there dreaming about becoming a dancer and/or choreographer like you?
(J): The best message I can give to kids is that they should never stop dreaming. This career takes a lot of work and sacrifice, but when you have the desire and the heart to do it…anything is possible.
(C): How would you describe this particular Peter Pan you are bringing to our area?
(J): We are working incredibly hard on this production to give the audience the best experience possible. I know that people will talk a lot about the show because they will enjoy it. Katia Garza’s choreography is excellent and the story is beautiful.
(C): After Peter Pan, what is your next project?
(J): I will be working on several upcoming competitions and international galas.
(C): Any final words for our Emerald Coast Community?
(J): I love the city and I can’t wait to be there to perform as Peter Pan.
