United States:
– The Hispanic or Latino population, which includes people of any race, was 62.1 million in 2020. The Hispanic or Latino population grew 23%, since 2010 and comprise 18.7% of the total U.S. Population!
– More than half (51.1%) of the total U.S. population growth between 2010 and 2020 came from growth in the Hispanic or Latino population.
– Twelve states—Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas—had a population of 1 million or more Hispanic residents in 2019, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
– The fastest population growth among Latino Americans is from people with origins in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Honduras, and Guatemala.
Florida:
– Florida’s Hispanic population increased by 34.9% between 2010 and 2020 to more than 21 million. Hispanics comprise 26.5% of the total state’s population!
– Growth in our region’s main counties continued during these past ten years. Here are the percentages by county population and the percentage of growth between 2010 and 2010.
— Bay: 7.9% (70.8% increase)
— Escambia: 6.5% (47.9% increase)
— Gadsden: 11.6% (15.3% increase)
— Leon: 7.8% (49.2% increase)
— Okaloosa: 10.7% (83.6% increase)
— Santa Rosa: 6.3% (82.7% increase)
— Walton: 8.2% (111.8% increase)
Alabama: Mobile County’s hispanic population is at 3.2% (35.1% increase) and Baldwin County’s is at 5.5% (58.7% increase).
