Cox Communications employees will award $50,000 to various nonprofits across the company’s Southeast footprint through employee-funded Cox Charities Community Investment grants.  Grant applications are now being accepted from 501(c)(3) organizations at www.CoxCharitiesSER.org through September 20, 2020. Applicants will receive their funding status in October 2020 and grant winners will receive payments in December 2020.

Cox Charities, the company’s charitable giving initiative, supports area nonprofits that further its mission to strengthen Cox communities through programs that positively impact people in the areas of education, health and human services, environmental sustainability, and the arts. Area nonprofits can apply for grants up to $5,000.

“This year has been challenging for local organizations of every kind and our employees are happy to provide continued financial support of our community partners,” said Erin Monroe Wesley, vice president of government and public affairs for the Cox Southeast region. “Now more than ever it’s important to get resources to nonprofits who are making a difference. Although times have changed, our commitment to the community remains the same.”

The Cox Southeast Region includes: Florida’s Gulf Coast (Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview), Central Florida (Gainesville and Ocala), Middle Georgia (Macon and Warner Robins) and Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Cox Charities was created to strengthen Cox communities through the support of programs that positively impact communities in the areas of education, technology, social issues, conservation and the arts. In addition to the Community Investment grants, Cox Charities offers Innovation in Education grants to pre-k-12th grade teachers/classrooms to promote students’ ingenuity and imagination through the innovative use of technology.
