Barbara Britt – Woman of the Year!

FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida [July 25, 2018] – Our very own Barbara Britt is making waves all over the country. Not only will she will be attending the 2018 National Women’s Leadership Conference sponsored by the American Business Women’s Association in Augusta, Georgia, but she will also be nationally recognized as a Top Ten ABWA Nominee and potentially ABWA Woman of the Year. She was chosen as the ABWA Emerald Coast Chapter’s Woman of the Year.
“Barbara Britt Is a dynamo, who not only works constantly to add dimension and depth to her training with John Maxwell, but also contributes to our community through her work with ABWA, the Fort Walton Beach Chamber and Distinguished Young Women of Okaloosa County to name a few. She has a heart for serving others and I am proud to call her my friend and ABWA sister,” stated Lori Erickson Ogles, ABWA Emerald Coast Chapter Treasurer.
Britt is a representative of the John C. Maxwell team. She specializes in international speaking, team training and coaching, and also offers leadership, personal and professional development training for a variety of organizations and individuals. She conducted the Transformational Training for Paraguay with the John Maxwell Company. In addition, she is a certified trainer with Jim Rohm Personality Insights and has international training and speaking experience with Transitional Lifestyles of the military child working with the Military Child Education Coalition which she will be conducting training and serving as a panelist this July in Washington, D.C.
This nomination is the highest honor awarded to a member of the ABWA. Britt is among nine other finalists that are being applauded for their career accomplishments, community involvement and of course, their contribution to ABWA.
“I am privileged to work with such amazing women through ABWA. It is an honor to work with women who help each other grow and develop into strong community leaders. Starting my own business, with the support from my ABWA Emerald Coast Chapter, has been the highlight of the second-part of my professional career,” states Britt.
Barbara is an active member in many different organizations on the Emerald Coast. She has served as the Assistant Program Director for the Chamber’s Youth Entrepreneur Academy, a civilian Honorary Commander of the 505th at Hurlburt Field, the local Building Homes for Heroes organization, Chairman of the Board for the Science Center, past Chair for Women Connect for the Chamber, and Programs Director for the American Business Women’s Association.
Barbara was nominated as the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast’s Volunteer of the Year at their 2018 Annual Dinner in March. She actively worked with many of the Youth of the Year candidates on essay writing and speech presentation; focusing on confidence, eye contact and overall composure.
