The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) concludes its 2017-2018 season with the world premier of its newest creation, Peter Pan.  The production features choreography by international guest artists Katia Garza and an original composition by NFB Music Director David Ott played live by the NFB Symphony Orchestra.

This must-see production will be presented on Saturday, March 3, at 7:30 pm and on Sunday, March 4 at 2:30pm at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center.

Who does not know Peter Pan?  Even after more than a century since it was created as part of a novel by author and playwright James Matthew Barrie, it continues to capture the imagination of both children and adults!

This specific production has magical sets and mesmerizing costumes and includes a cast of international guest artists and company members who will take audiences on a spectacular journey to Neverland!

The production group is led by Todd Eric Allen, NFB Artistic Director and CEO and in addition to the choreography by Katia Garza, who began her dance training career in Monterrey, Mexico, the ballet will feature amazing scenery projections designed and created by Cuban born artist Israel Rodriguez, plus scenic designer Luly Garza, and costume designer Brisa Dinorah Gomez Cruz who both work out of Mexico City.

The role of Peter Pan will be played by Jorge Barani, who graduated from the National School of Arts in Havana, Cuba in 2010 and is in his third season as the principal male dancer.

In addition to its two public performances, NFB will also present a performance for area school children.  NFB performs for thousands of area school children annually through its Education and Outreach services.

Tickets for Peter Pan are $38 for adults and $18 for children 12 and under.  This season’s production of Peter Pan is sponsored in part by Emerald Coast Magazine, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.  Housing sponsors include ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and The Courtyard by Marriott Sandestin at Grand Boulevard, a Howard Group Development.  Tickets are now on sale through the Mattie Kelly Box Office website or via www.NFBallet.org
