Are we there yet?

By Bohemian Babushka

HolaHolaHola Beautifuls!! Summer is upon us, and if there’s a question that fits the season, it’s “Are we there yet??” Those of us with children have surely heard this many a time. A question of longing thrown at parents by little ones tired of their current surroundings. Hoping to change their future they feel dragged along and want something different, something more. Now think about this Beautifuls, isn’t that a perfect analogy for us this month, the month of this country’s independence?

  1. The American colonists have been living a journey without much say in it. For the most part they’ve been dragged along with empty pledges of better surroundings and they are tired of it. Paying taxes without much representation they are told to be silent. They’ve had enough and fight for their freedom, and from this fight a new nation was born.

2017 and now more than ever Americans are asking “Are we there yet?” Have we found the promises this lands forefathers set forth? Do we dare voice our opinions and fight for our beliefs? Are we just going along on the ride or are we active participants?

So, is BB suggesting that this country’s early colonists were children or that in our midsts are revolutionaries? JU SO FONII!! By now you should know Babushka with her love of twofers, the USA and possibilities. In all times there are lessons and opportunities. Take advantage of roadtrips to learn and re enact history; take advantage of current events to make history. Be an active part of this country’s legacy.  Always be ready to ask, “Are we there yet?”
