IRVINE, California, January 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The board of directors of Mazda Foundation (USA) Inc. awarded $450,000 to four organizations as part of the foundation’s annual grant delivery. These grants are aimed at Communities in Southern California and the Huntsville, Alabama metropolitan area.

The grants were delivered to orange county Second Harvest Food Bank (Irvine, California), the North Alabama Food Bank (Huntsville, Alabama), FUSE Studio (to fund a program in Southern California) and AVID Center (to fund a program in Madison, Alabama).

These grants are consistent with the guiding principle of mazda Foundation which states that the most important thing is one another. Today, the foundation not only seeks to address the consequences of poverty, but also some of its many causes.

“The grants we announced today address some challenges that many Americans face,” said Jeff Guyton, president of Mazda North American Operations and president of mazda Foundation (USA), Inc. “These challenges range from basic food security to equal access to the basic elements of education. Everyone needs these foundations in order to thrive.”

Subsidies for food banks aim to increase food delivery to needy families in times when demand has soared, where the most recent estimates indicate that this increase, as of March 2020, is more than 60%. Funds for FUSE will fund STEM programs for several low-income middle schools, while funding for AVID will ensure that disadvantaged students have the opportunity, not only to be admitted to college, but to be successful once inside.

About Mazda Foundation (USA), Inc.: Being the corporate foundation of Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), since 1992 Mazda Foundation has donated more than $13 million to youth-working organizations, educational scholarships, food banks, environmental programs, and disaster care work.
