The event will take place in the main gallery of the Panama City Center for the Arts on the evening of Friday, June 16 where Mr. Martin will facilitate the interview with award winning Writer/Director, GABRIELA TAGLIAVINI, who has just finished her 6th feature film “How To Break Up With Your Douchebag” to be distributed by Televisa/Pantelion/Lionsgate in October 2017.

GABRIELA TAGLIAVINI’s latest directorial release, “Border Run” (aka “The Mule”), stars Sharon Stone, Miguel Rodarte, Manolo Cardona and Billy Zane. It was distributed in the US by Anchor Bay and Starz while Voltage Pictures negotiated international sales to Germany, France, Japan, etc. The film was nominated for Imagen Foundation Awards’ (U.S. “Latino Oscars” that take place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills & air on PBS) 2013 Best Picture of the Year.

Tagliavini recently closed a deal with AMBI Group – to finance her movie, “Soul Business” this fall. Additionally, her recent proposal to FOX studios to write and direct the remake of Marilyn Monroe’s classic film “How to Marry a Millionaire.” was accepted.

Tagliavini’s fourth feature as a writer-director, “Without Men,” staring Eva Longoria, Kate Del Castillo and Christian Slater, sold worldwide in many countries and had a theatrical release in the U.S. She earned a nomination for Best Director. Her film “Ladies’ Night” (distributed by Disney/Buena Vista) was the #1 movie in the box office in Mexico in 2004. It won three MTV Latin Movie Awards. Its soundtrack released by Sony went platinum. Her TV film, the Viacom/VH1/MTV/Maverick feature “30 Days Until I’m Famous,” premiered on VH1. The film stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Mindy Sterling, Udo Kier and Carmen Electra and was executive-produced by Madonna.

For her directorial debut, “The Woman Every Man Wants” (aka “Perfect Lover”), she won the Best Director award at 3 international film festivals including the New York Independent and Munich Film Festivals in 2001. It premiered at the A-list Festival of Mar del Plata, Argentina in the Official Selection.

Tagliavini received a Bachelors Degree in film directing and a Masters Degree in screenwriting from the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI). She is also a renowned author and has two novels published with critical acclaim. She worked as a writer for CNN and was a juror at the Berlin Film Festival and the platinum awards. She won the prestigious 2006 ABC/DGA directing fellowship where she shadowed shows like Disney’s “Hannah Montana” and “Desperate Housewives.” For television, she helmed a live show, “Comedy Rehab,” for Comedy Central. She wrote (uncredited) the screenplay for “Cantinflas” co-produced by former NBC topper Ben Silverman. She adapted the best-selling novel “The Anatomist”, hired by HBO Films. She wrote the remake of the prestigious Luis Buñuel’s film “Belle De Jour.” In 2011, L.E.M.I. gave her the Outstanding Life Achievement Award.

The session will be conducted in the format of the film industry’s “craft seminars”, in which attendees interested in the various aspects of filmmaking may ask of and learn from professionals, their experiences, insights and advice on the film industry.  Prior to the Q&A, attendees will be given the opportunity to screen “Border Run” in the main gallery.
